New York City Central Park 1987 Indigent Soul

New York City
Central Park
Indigent Soul on Park Bench
1987

If I remember correctly, the woman was with another woman friend and they spoke a language I did not understand. I am thinking a Scandinavian language which would make sense if they were photographing a man who likely had too much to drink and no place to sleep it off....likely a rare sight in their home country. This sad sight used to be all too common in the 1980's-90's...It has been a long time since I wandered the fascinating streets of New York City.

Serendipity can bring us to places we have not planned to travel.
One can always find an excuse not to go when presented with an opportunity.
When my friend had a break from her internship in surgery  she told me about a great deal on a trip to Denmark. I was with a most wonderful girlfriend (E.P.) so I said I could not travel with my female friend. My friend said "Ask her". Hmm...well that should work out well, I thought. So I asked E.P. if she could keep an eye on my business while I went to Denmark with my friend.
E.P. looked at me and said  "Yes". She had total trust in my character.
It is hard to built "trust" in any relationship and so easy to break it forever.
Some of my favorite photographs were shot in Denmark, in Copenhagen and surroundings.
This scene is one of them.

Rainbow South Dakota 1962

Rainbow
South Dakota
1962

Camera; Ansco

One of the first "decent" photos by this photographer blogger.
I was on a camp bus with other kids.
We all saw the rainbow and demanded the driver stop for a photo opportunity.
Of course "decent" in this case was accomplished by being in the right spot at the right time and having a camera.
